Job description

Hydrosat is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft systems. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong systems engineering background and a passion for guiding engineers through complex technical challenges. The Engineering Manager will ensure technical excellence across subsystems, foster collaboration, and support program objectives from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers (mechanical, electrical, thermal, etc.)

  • Oversee system-level design, integration, and verification activities for space systems and payloads

  • Support program management in defining schedules, budgets, and technical milestones

  • Drive engineering process and ensure adherence to quality standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain alignment with mission objectives

  • Work closely with program management to ensure schedules, budgets, and resource allocation support program objectives

  • Contribute to hiring and professional development of engineering staff

  • Prepare and present technical and organizational updates to leadership and stakeholders

Job requirements

  • US Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field; master's preferred

  • 10+ years of engineering experience including 3+ years in a management or leadership role

  • Strong systems engineering background with experience in space systems design, build, and deployment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex technical projects

  • Familiarity with space systems integration, testing, and operations

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Earth observation instruments or similar space systems

  • Knowledge of aerospace regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Familiarity with risk management, configuration control, and design review process

  • Hands-on experience with integration and test campaigns

  • Knowledge and experience with configuration management and standard design review processes
