Job description

Hydrosat is a space and data analytics company building a new Earth observation constellation and software platform to unlock the power of thermal infrared imagery. We deliver high-resolution thermal insights that help governments, defense agencies, and agribusinesses better manage water resources, agricultural production, national security threats, and critical infrastructure.

We grow through two distinct routes to market – government programmes, and commercial data and subscription products – and our Operations team keeps the business running behind both, giving executive leadership a clear, trusted view of how the company is performing.

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to join our Operations team and work closely with our Chief of Corporate Operations. You will help plan, coordinate, and build financial and operational models. You will also help support analysis and strategy proposals that inform how Hydrosat runs its business – from employee compensation and departmental planning, to ESG, ERM, and other org-wide efforts. You will support organization of the efficiency metrics that tell leadership where the company stands, as well as the implementation processes that result. Using Excel, PowerPoint, AI, and other tools of the trade you will turn complex, cross-functional data and workflows into clear analysis and presentation decks that senior leadership and department heads can act on, and will help with coordination and implementation across departments for such programs.

This is not a narrow reporting role. We expect our Senior Operations Analyst to be a genuine thought partner to the CCO and executive leadership – helping structure how the company thinks about its own performance, not just producing the numbers. The ideal candidate is as comfortable, for example, building a compensation model from scratch as they are distilling it into a clear, well-organized narrative for a monthly business review.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to

  • Act as a flexible operations resource to the CCO, picking up cross-functional analysis, coordination, and projects as priorities shift

  • Build clear, well-structured Excel models and PowerPoint presentations that make complex operational and financial topics easy for leadership to act on

  • Prepare and help coordinate and run monthly revenue reviews, business reviews, and other leadership initiatives with the CCO, department leads and executive leadership

  • Partner closely with the CCO and executive leadership on corporate operations, business planning, and company financial topics

  • Build and maintain models and plans which may range from ERM, to ESG, OKRs, KPIs, supporting benchmarking, budgeting, and compensation planning decisions, among other key areas of org infrastructure

  • Help define and track efficiency metrics across departments, giving leadership a consistent way to measure how the business is performing

  • Support departmental modelling and planning, working with department leads to support the build-out and refinement oftheir operating plans

  • Develop financial and compensation models that hold up to scrutiny from leadership, the board, and investors

Job requirements

  • Strong facility with Excel modelling and building polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations

  • Experience in corporate operations, business operations, or corporate finance, ideally including exposure to complex company structural and/or financing topics

  • A structured, organized way of thinking – you don't need to be the one presenting, but your analysis needs to tell a clear story

  • Comfortable working closely to support a CCO (and where needed other executive leadership directly), with thecoordination skills, judgment and discretion that requires

  • Ability to naturally multitask and work across a broad array of professional topics, considerations, time-zones, and other diverse daily work requirements

  • Excellent written and analytical communication skills

  • Eligible to work in the United States

Ideal Profile

  • Exposure to both large company and a small company priorities and underlying realities – for example, starting a career at a larger organization before moving to a startup and helping build something from scratch (or vice-versa)

  • A “spirit of organization and presentation”: someone who naturally organizes their thinking into a clear structure, even if presenting it to a room isn't the main part of the role, though there will be future opportunities for this as well

  • Comfortable working remotely as part of a distributed team; candidates based on the US East Coast are preferred

Nice to Have

  • Background in a startup or scale-up environment, having helped build an operations or similar function from the ground up

  • Experience supporting a C-level executive or executive leadership team directly

  • Exposure to the space, geospatial, Earth observation, or another deep-tech industry

  • Hands-on experience building departmental planning, efficiency, or compensation models

Current Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package

  • Stock options to share in Hydrosat’s long-term success

  • Fast-moving, mission-driven startup environment with real ownership

  • Remote-friendly role with flexibility

  • Basic medical, dental, and vision insurance – 100% employer-paid for you, 50% for dependents

  • Employer-paid base life insurance, plus optional accident, hospital, and critical illness coverage

  • 401(k) with a Safe Harbor match – 100% of your contributions up to 4% of pay, vested from day one

  • Unlimited PTO, 16 firm holidays, and 6 sick/safe days each year

  • 100% paid parental leave – 12 weeks for birth parents, 8 weeks for the other parent, adoption, or surrogacy

  • FSA/HSA options, commuter benefits, and a monthly cell phone stipend

  • Employee Assistance Program and mental health support through Spring Health
